How Tools Work

When Arif needs a tool, it follows a governed path:

  1. Gather permitted context.
  2. Select an available tool.
  3. Validate requested inputs.
  4. Check Qriib permissions and Arif safety policy.
  5. Ask for approval when policy requires it.
  6. Execute the approved action.
  7. Return results and track supported changes for undo.

Public Safety Model

Tools can be read-only or capable of changing business data. Read-only tools are used to understand context. Change-making tools are controlled by Qriib permissions, safety policy, approval cards, and rollback tracking where possible.

Availability

Not every organization has the same tool set. Plugin Hub, MCP, module installation, and administrator review determine which capabilities appear for each user.
