Arif discovers available capabilities from Qriib, Plugin Hub, and configured MCP servers. The available set is filtered by configuration, permissions, and safety policy.

Discovery Flow

What Tool Descriptions Include

Tool descriptions tell Arif:

• What the capability does.
• Which inputs are required.
• Whether it is read-only or can change something.
• Which connector owns the capability.

Arif uses this information to choose the right tool and prepare valid inputs.

Safety During Discovery

Discovery does not mean unrestricted execution. A discovered tool must still pass permission checks, safety policy, and any required approval before it can perform a sensitive action.

Changing Available Tools

If an administrator enables, disables, or updates a connector, Arif's available tool list changes accordingly. Users should ask their administrator if an expected capability does not appear to be available.
